ActivoBank App operating policy
1. Scope
By installing ActivoBank App, you are sharing your data with Banco Comercial Português, S.A., hereafter referred to as BCP, and you are using services and features that require some personal data (such as location) in order to work properly.
This document states the reasons why we request this data, what we do with it and how we treat it, so that you can use all features of our App with no worries.
Our banking relationship with you has been strongly based on mutual trust since the beginning, and we want to keep that relationship of trust in the digital world.
2. App use
In order to use ActivoBank App, you must:
- Download the app from the store
- Install the app on your device
- Register on the app
App registration is necessary because:
Besides letting us build a more close and interactive relationship, it guarantees that you can have access to two features without having to log in the App:
- Check account balances
- Make payments with MB WAY
By registering on the App, we ensure that the access is made exclusively by the registered Customer.
3. Permission requests
Requests for permissions to access personal data are necessary to provide you some of the features of the app.
The collection and treatment of your personal data are protected by our privacy policy, which you can learn about in point 5 (BCP privacy policy).
Permission requests and the reasons why we request them are:
Access to contacts
To allow some features to use the device's contacts, for example to make transfers with MB WAY, it’s necessary:
- Read your contacts
- Refresh your contacts
- Find accounts on the device
Access to telephone
To allow the you to make calls using phone numbers on the App
- Dial phone numbers directly
- Read phone status and IMEI
Access to storage
To allow download, saving files on the device and uploading files to the App, its fundamental to:
- Read the content of shared storage
- Change/delete the content of shared storage
Access to the camera
To allow customization of images or uploading files to the App
Access to the microphone
To allow you to make calls or videocalls with audio
Access to location
- Only to access the approximate location in foreground
- Only to access the exact location in foreground
Your location will be used when you are on the app and only in the following situations:
a) When searching for Pontos Activo near you
b) To apply, or not, the waiting period in the ON/OFF Travel Insurance, in case you’re abroad
c) When requesting ON/OFF Travel Insurance assistance
Your location is not saved or shared with third parties without your permission.
Other permissions
To allow overall good functioning
- Use biometric hardware
- Use fingerprint hardware
- Prevent inactive mode of the phone
- View Wi-Fi connections
- Receive data from the internet
- Have full access to the network
- Run service in the foreground
- Access to Bluetooth settings
- Control of “Near Field Communication” (NFC)
- Run at start-up
- Read notifications
- View network connections
- Install shortcuts
4. Data collection and use
We collect and use data for the following:
- Opening an account
- Getting access codes
- Register the app
- Getting banking and insurance products and/or services
- Customer data and account maintenance
These data are provided by you and are not shared with other parties without your consent.
Additionally, the data you share with us is regulated by the duty of professional secrecy, as well as by our privacy policy, which you can learn about in the next section.
